Learning the art of cooking

I admit to being a single woman who lacks many fundamental skills in the kitchen. This is made even sadder due to the fact that I have worked in two professional kitchens. I am able to follow a recipe, be it in a cookie recipe or on the back of a box of hamburger helper. When I was taught how to make the menu items at my previous workplace I was able to keep up. But when it comes to cooking a whole meal, I am lost. I don’t know any salad recipes, or how to make a pot roast or whole chicken.

I have tried to grow my knowledge on this subject, but haven’t prioritized it until this week when I started looking into recipes for food instead of deserts (which happens to be my favorite part of the whole meal). Therefore I have started to save posts on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/kymbee2008/recipes-to-cook/ ) and so far I have been nothing short of inspired by the delicious recipes I have found. Tonight I will begin my adventure in the art of cooking with;

  1. Kymber, some delicious choices for your first foray into the culinary arts. I have read Julia Child’s ‘My Life in France’. She had a very lucky husband who was her taste tester.
